hi-tech unemployment by city

  • I want to see current 2002 data on hi-tech employment/unemployment by U.S. cities with MSA > 250,000.

  • Are you interested just in free information? I have found a specific report with current data and city-by-city high tech employment rates, but you have to pay for it. I've also found free PARTIAL data from that report, but not the full one for free. Would you consider this kind of information as an answer? Regards, Lrargerich

  • I'm afraid we found the same AeA report. You may be interested in contacting the AeA research team (if you didn't): AeA Research Contact Information Michaela Platzer Vice President, Research 202.682.4450 Christopher Novak Assistant Director, Research 202.682.4422 Matthew Kazmierczak Senior Manager, Research 202.682.4438 AeA Research Department 601 Penn Ave. NW North Building Suite 600 Washington, D.C. 20004 Phone: 202.682.9110 Fax: 202.682.9111 research_analysis@aeanet.org They "have teamed with Survey Research Associates LLC (SRA) to provide a subscription-based, on- demand salary survey product customized to meet the specific needs of the high-tech industry where participation is straightforward, online, and easy to perform". Did you try asking for updated data? Or for a special survey? You can try a demo at http://www.aeanet.org/Publications/idns_mainsurveyspage.asp Good Luck! Lrargerich

  • I already have the AeA Cybercities report (if that's the source you located), but the data is too old. The Cyberstates report is current, but it's not by city, so less useful. Did you have another source in mind?

  • Yes, I would probably pay for it (depending on price), but in any event, I would consider that an answer. Thanks, sacalay

  • Dear Sacalay, I have my answer ready but, before posting it, I want to ask you if you would be interested in this kind of information. I have links to great sources were you can buy: The 2002 State by State report for the High Tech industry, including data on employment by state and recent labour changes. The 2000 City by City report with the same scope (by city). The contact data of the research team where you can ask for special surveys. If you can accept this information as an answer to your question I'll be happy to post it. Regards, Lrargerich
