I just finished wiring the ethernet cable to my pc from my 360 and set it up to share the internet connection and tested it and everything and it goes through the network test confirming everything, but then it gets to the section that says "xbox live" and it pauses and then has a slide that comes up saying "yes, update now" or "no, update later" so i select yes and then it goes to the update application screen and the loading bar just sits still until it says failed. any ideas?u cant plug the ethernet cbale for 360 into a pc need be alaptop and only some laptops cANCall 1800-4MY-XBOXThere's nothing wrong with setting it up like this for normal convenience, but you should try direct connecting it and see if you get the update screen. If it won't update, then you know there's a problem with your XBOX. If it doesn't prompt you for an update, then either something on your computer is configured improperly or your computer is incapable (which I don't see why it would be).
