Why Should American Veterans Be Honored?
We should honor American Veterans Because without them we would not have all the wonderful things that we now have. If we did not have these great warriors defending this great country we might have still been under the control of great Britain. These soldiers, Sailors, Air Men, Marines, and Coast Guards have been ready to stand in the way and stare into the eyes of the enemy ready to kill, or be killed and keep this country free. They made the Noble and brave sacrifices of leaving there family, friends, and life behind just to make sure no damage comes here. Only God knows The Teardrops and Blood shed for All who gave some, and some who gave all. For all the soldiers that missed there first childâ ™s years just so yours could sleep safe at night. They have defended the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, Foreign and Domestic for over 235 years. More importantly they defend the people that honor their service, that look upon them for security, and for a steady hand in time of crisis. They have taken a risk, expecting no glory, no fame, or even a thank you. They go over seas, and overland, some knowing that they might not even return home, protecting our right, laws, and freedom.

You don't say how old you are. This is nice for a middle-schooler, but you'll need A LOT more if you're in college.
The idea that without the war in Iraq we would not have the Apple iPhone, is ludicrous. You need to be more specific in your claims.
Backtracking to the war of independence is silly, our entire army was militia, fighting not for freedom from the british crown, but for material wealth, religious ideals, gold, and silver.
The implication that Britain even today is evil and bad, is stupid and offensive.
God has no place in a school paper that doesn't involve religion.
Nobody has threatened the American constitution for over 200 years, save for the Republican party, which continue to violate it whenever it suits them. For instance Guantanamo, patriot act, FCC powers, activist supreme court judges.
The idea that we went overseas to protect our own country is also largely nonsense. We went to Afghanistan, for example, for revenge. We went to Iraq, for our own geo-strategic interests.
Do not blindly honor what you do not understand.
THIS IS FOR AN ESSAY CONTEST. Whatever happened to integrity. When I did essay contests I didnt ask the whole world for help.
