I hooked to cable, and all i get is snowy channels, or just sound and black screen. I hooked it through my digital cable box and still nothing. Manual says I may have to have a signal amplifier. Help, I am about ready to take the tv back and buy an old cable ready tv.i suggest changing your input setting to whatever your cable box is hooked up to.....if it is hooked up to componant or hdmi...or coaxial...go to your input settings and switch to that.....maybe its channel 3 you have to be on..check on the back of the cable box, if it is set on Ch 3 then turn the tv to channel 3. turn the power on and it should come on. it should run from the wall jack to the cable box then to the vcr if you want to record anything then to the tv. You change channels on the converter box not the tv. Try your TV with some other inputs before taking it back, like an external antenna (rabbit ears or rooftop), a DVD player, etc. If you get a decent picture with those, you can also get it off of cable.
Depending on your cable service, you might try connecting directly from the cable jack to your TV's antenna input. You should be able to see the basic analog channels that way.
These steps will help you determine if your problem is the TV or something related to your cable box, which I suspect.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
